Orion Wine Software offers its customers the ability to use advanced technology to help with the management of barrels.  Both production applications, WiPS and Blend, have integrated scanning systems that provide easier management of barrels in the warehouse.

The WiPS Barrel Scanning System was developed primarily for wineries that store small oak barrels on moveable racks.

The capabilities of this system are computer-printed "row cards", a uniquely numbered barrel rack sequence; scanning from a barrel warehouse "map" of barcoded locations; Barrel Fill, Empty and top can be integrated with the corresponding pre-printed work order; and Barrel emptying, topping and similar work orders can be specified where the barrel lots are located and which barrels to obtain.

The scanner used with the WiPS Barrel Scanning System is a PSC Falcon 4420.

The Blend Barrel Bar Coding System is a seamless and completel integrated Data Capture and Verification System.  The Barrel Bar Coding System is designed specifically for the Blend software suite.  This device tracks the filling, emptying and moving of barrels within the cellar.  It is also easily programmable by the user to track many other operations such as sanitizing, ozone applications, repairs, and anything else that the customer wishes to track. 

The scanner used with the Blend Barrel Bar Coding System is a Percon Falcon Scanner.
